I brought 3 teens prefishing yesterday to Aligator and we put in at the ramp off Hickory road.  Now I know what Ben was talking about in regards to a bad ramp.  Not only is there big rocks everywhere, but the main problem is that the canal is very narrow.  This makes it very difficult to swing your boat in order to put it back on to your trailer.  In addition, docking over 20 boats in that area would be a nightmare.
First of all, I want to say that I think Ben, Rob, and Neal are doing a great job at running and coordinating these tournaments.  I am writing this message to help everyone.  Here are my reccomendations.
1.  Move the launch place to either the ramp at the fish camp on Lake Lizie or to the one off Bass highway.  I have never been to the one in Lizie so I don't have any info for that, however, I heard that there is a fee.
2.  I always go out of the one off Bass Highway.  The problem over there would be room.  I'm not sure that we would have enough room for trailers and to dock boats. The good thing is that there would not be as many rocks and no fee.
3.  A last resort could be that the launch and weigh in  could be at one ramp but the boat captains could choose to put in at any of the 3 ramps and drive to the launch area to pick up their teens.

I hope this message helps.  Please advise.

Tom, I don't recall making any statement of a "Bad Ramp"?? I did state that the rocks and space might pose some issues that we would have to work around by launching there. Rob went and checked it out and has advised me that all is good with it. We will have it all worked out by then. Stay tuned to the website for additional info!!! And thanks for the kind comment...
